Cane Sugar Filtration
As cane sugar producers place increasingly higher demands on product quality (colour value, purity), operating cost and environmental compliance, the industry has a growing need for a filter-aid-free, fully automatic, high-precision and low-loss filtration upgrade solution — this is precisely the positioning of the BetaFlo® Automatic Backwash Filter.www.livicfilter.com/en/filtersystem_show_1352.shtml
Concentrated Juice / Standard Liquor Fine Filtration at Cane Sugar Mills
Process location: Fine filtration of concentrated juice or standard liquor, positioned after evaporation and concentration and before boiling and crystallization.
Recommended configuration: 10–20 µm for a fine-filtration duty, or up to 150 µm for a pretreatment/protective duty, to be determined according to the suspended-solids tolerance of the downstream boiling process.
Application value: BBetaFlo can replace or be installed ahead of traditional diatomaceous earth precoat filtration, removing the cost of continuous filter-aid dosing; it can reduce suspended impurities entering the crystallization stage, helping to stabilize crystal formation and improve product colour value; it may lower the risk of scaling or fouling on evaporators and crystallizers and extend equipment cleaning cycles; and its fully automatic continuous operation is suited to the high-intensity, continuous production rhythm of a cane sugar milling season.
Multi-Stage Pretreatment of Raw Sugar Remelt Liquor at Sugar Refineries
Process location: After raw sugar remelt, and before the clarification, decolorization and recrystallization stages.
Recommended configuration: A multi-stage, decreasing-precision configuration (for example, 50–100 µm coarse filtration followed by 10–20 µm medium-fine filtration) can substantially remove suspended particles and bagasse fibre from the raw sugar remelt liquor, creating a low-load feed condition for downstream decolorization and fine-filtration equipment.
Application value: This approach can significantly reduce filter-aid consumption and cartridge-change frequency for downstream decolorization equipment; reduce unplanned downtime caused by bagasse fibre accumulation; and complement existing decolorization/fine-filtration equipment without requiring any change to the existing process route, allowing it to be implemented quickly as a "front-end upgrade”.
